A political support group under the umbrella of the Tinubu Second Term Mandate (T2M), led by Dr. Al’amin Tsafe, has presented a cheque of ₦23,242,000 in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The cheque was presented to the Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Matawalle, at his residence in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Tsafe said the group decided to support President Tinubu’s second-term ambition because of what it described as the administration’s achievements over the last three years.
“We as a group felt that there is no better candidate to run for the presidency than Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that is why we are out to garner support including financial donation to the cause,” he said.
He added: “We are really very pleased to have contributed the little we can to ensure this dream of second term bid becomes a reality.”
According to him, the contribution reflects the group’s commitment and confidence in the Tinubu administration, particularly in the areas of security, economic reforms, agriculture and youth empowerment.
“President Tinubu’s administration has done excellently well in the areas of security, economy, agriculture and youth empowerment, especially in the northern part of the country. Therefore, he needs our support as well,” Tsafe stated.
Responding, Matawalle thanked the group for what he described as their confidence in the administration, insisting that President Tinubu has not failed Nigerians.
The minister also urged northern Nigerians to support the president’s re-election bid, stating that the region should repay Tinubu with votes in 2027.
He commended the initiative and assured the group that the cheque would be delivered to the appropriate authorities.
The presentation coincided with the anniversary of President Tinubu’s third year in office.
