Tinubu Releases Budget 2025 for Security, Infrastructure and Other Projects to National Assembly

During the plenary held on Wednesday 18th December 2024, the president of the Federal Republic, Ahmed Tinubu has presented the 2025 appropriation bill.

Recall that the president scheduled to present the budget to the national assembly.

Bearing the title; “Budget of Restoration, Security peace and Rebuilding prosperity” the president promised that the budget will drive the nation’s inflation from 35% down to 15%.

In the proposal, the total money for the budget totals roughly 50 trillion naira.

Promising the citizens, the president following his proposal said he’ll make sure the (what he called) Socio-economic fabric of the nation is tightened as well as national security.

Apart from the 49.7 trillion naira total budget, president Tinubu also mentioned about 15.81 trillion naira for what he called “debt servicing”.

Following his speech, the president promised the citizens that the 2025 budget will bring the naira to dollar exchange rate from 1,700 naira to 1,500 naira.

Also, the crude oil production base is likely to improve to about 2.06 mbpd (millions barrels per day).

Break-down of President Tinubu 2025 Budget

President Tinubu gave a breakdown of his total budget for 2025 as follows;

  • 3.52 trillion naira for Education
  • 4.06 trillion naira for Infrastructure
  • 4.91 trillion naira for Security and Defence
  • 2.48 trillion naira for Health

The president has promised to significantly use the budget for each project emphasizing on the security of the nation.

He promised to fund the military and other armed forces with the budget to make sure the nation is secured and citizens are without fear.

Furthermore, the infrastructure, education and health budgets are going to be significantly used, said the president.

The Universal Education board and Nine new institutions in the country, Basic health care fund, agriculture and other areas are going to be completely covered from the 2025 budget by the president Tinubu.
