The Governor Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has called for peace to return to ohaukwu LGA, says he’s up for resolving the Effium Crisis that has taken lives.
Making his statement on Saturday during a christmas homage visit by the people of Ohaukwu, in his home town-Izzi.
Calling on the stakeholders and elders of Ohaukwu, Governor Nwifuru called the people of Ezza and Effium as Kin’s and Kits, the Governor asked the people t give peace a chance.
Furthermore, he made it clear that the Government is ready to resolve the crisis without bias.
“I have heard your plea regarding the release of those in detention as a result of the crisis…” The Governor said addressing the issue of those in different Correctional centres because of the said crisis.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he had directed the peace committee to get their profiles and see to their release.
However, while the committee was on the it, a lot of other inmates from the community began claiming to have been sent there because of the crisis too.
Therefore, the Governor said they’re are taking time to thoroughly scrutinize the issue and make sure all those who were taken in are released.
