Brigadier general YD Ahmed, the director general of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) has come out to assure corp members that they would start receiving their allowance of N77k very soon.

Making this statement while commissioning a 32-seater bus which was donated by the Capital Express Insurance Company, the director said it would help corp members and NYSC staff in Abuja to commute easily.

While he thanked the Capital Express Insurance Company for their provision as he noted that it would ease the transportation challenges from NYSC members and staff, he said the board is working tirelessly to ensure that corp members receive their appropriate salary.

However, this is coming after several back and forth with the implementation of the new minimum wage not only to corp members but to workers in Nigeria, generally.

The DG said NYSC members should be hopeful of an implementation real soon as he refused to state a particular date, year and time.
