G@y Men Can Become Priests As Long As They Are Celibate – New Vatican Guideline
The new Vatican guideline approved by Italian Bishops has suggested that Gay men who are open about their personality and remain celibate, can become priests in catholic.
This development is following a recent adjustment to practice in the Catholic church by the Italian bishops.
“When referring to homosexual tendencies in the formation process, it is also appropriate not to reduce the discernment to this aspect alone but to understand it’s meaning within the whole framework of the young persons’ personality.” The guideline read.
Contrary to this new guideline, a previous teaching says homosexual activity is an intrinsic disorder while a 2016 instruction said that men with deep-seated homosexual tendencies are not fit to become priests.
However, the recent guideline has approved for gay men ‘who are celibate’ and ‘are open’ about their personality to train and become Catholic priests.
Meanwhile, Pope Francis was recently slammed for publicly supporting LGBT+ community.
Coming after the Pope, also, recently publicly said that being a homosexual is not a crime, not many people are surprised about this guideline.
