Fake Soldier Arrested For Abducting Man and Stealing His iPhone

A fake army man has been nabbed by the rapid response squad of Lagos state police command for abducting a man under the guide of taking him to the army barracks, leaving him on the Third mainland bridge and making away with his iphone 13.

In a statement by the RRS on X(twitter), the 42-year old Kingsley Wanagbo happens to be a dismissed army sergeant and an ex-convict.

Apparently, Kingsley(the suspect) had been caught by one of his victims in Ikeja computer village, on Saturday.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, on 30th December 2024, accused his victim of stepping on him. He claimed he lost a gold ring in the process and that his victim must produce the ring for him.” The statement released on Wednesday partly read.

Furthermore, the statement revealed that the suspect had told his victim that he was a soldier and showed him his identity card. Wanagbo told the victim that he was risking following him to the army barracks by his non-compliance to produce his ‘gold ring’.

Along the line, Wanagbo flagged down his accomplice who disguised also and was on a bike on which they took Solomon, the victim, to the Third mainland bridge.

“Further investigation revealed that Wanagbo sold the iphone 13 for N150,000 in computer village, Ikeja. Recovered from him were a Nigerian Army Fez cap, and a Nigerian Army fake identity card” the statement included.

Meanwhile, Wanagbo, according to the statement has been taken to the commissioner of police’s special squad for continuous investigation.
