22-Year Old Man Sentenced to Death By Hanging For Killing a Sex Worker in Ogun State
On Wednesday, a court sitting took place in Ogun state and on a one count charge of murder, 22-year old Jamiu Malomo was sentenced to death by hanging for Killing stabbing an alleged sex worker back in July 2018.
The victim, Asisat Akakinde was alleged to be a sex worker who Malomo picked at 3AD bar at Panseke area and took her to his house for sexual pleasure. However, after their pleasure, Malomo gave the victim N8,000 instead of the N10,000 which was their earlier agreement saying that’s all he had.
This incident which was narrated by the state’s chief prosecutor, Mr. A. M Adebayo during the trial happened back in 2018 and the suspect had been detained until his final trial on Wednesday.
“The issue resulted to an argument between both of them and the convict brought out a knife and stabbed the victim which led to an instant death” Adebayo narrated.
Meanwhile, during the court sitting, the judge found Malomo guilty as charged and sentenced him;
“You are hereby guilty of killing Asisat Akande as preferred against you. You will be hanged on the neck untill you are dead. May God have mercy on you.” Justice O. Ogunfowora judged Malomo saying the prosecutor’s defended his case beyond reasonable doubt.
Meanwhile, the prosecuting counsel had said that Malomo’s crime was contrary to section 316 and punishable under section 319 of the criminal code laws of the state.
Furthermore, he noted that the convict had been walking freely after his crime until he was caught at the same 3AD bar at Panseke trying to pick another girl.
Justice was served for the deceased.
