My Health Improved After I Left Office As Nigeria’s President – Buhari
Former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has opened up on how his health improved upon completing his tenure as Nigeria’s President, from 2015-2023.
While in office as Nigeria’s President, Buhari was constantly reported sick and was flying abroad almost all the time to receive treatment.
However, during an APC stakeholders meeting in Kastina state Government House, Buhari opened up how being Nigeria’s President affected his health. He said his health has improved since he left office.
“My health has improved since leaving office. People who visited me said so”. He opened up.
Recall that he handed over to Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he left office on 29th May, 2023.
While in service, Nigeria’s economy had moved from ‘spoon’ to ‘frying pan’. Fuel moved from a manageable price to a much higher price topping about 60%, prohibition of borrowing by states, capital projects were halted, a ban was placed on recruitment of federal public sector workers.
Generally, Buhari’s administration practically introduced Nigerians to misery untill Tinubu came into power and everything went from ‘frying pan’ to ‘fire’.
During Buhari’s regime, Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio rose from 29% to 96%, inflation rate went really high and instead of economic growth, Nigeria’s economy was nothing to write home about.
However, he said in his speech that people who are not in power would not understand how much complexity and difficult Nigeria is facing.
