An officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission -EFCC identified as Remedy Yange from Benue state has been found dead on in a Lagos street.
In a video circulating online of the incident, Yange’s body was seen lying lifeless on the ground as passersby struggled to identify him.
However, a bag was found beside his body which had his work ID card, that’s how he was identified.
The deceased was said to have been on leave before he met his demise. While some narratives are saying he slumped and died while he was walking, nothing has been proven yet as the cause of death.
Confirming the incident, Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson said investigation was still ongoing to unravel the mystery behind the sudden death of the operative.
Recall that a certain Aminu Salusi, an EFCC assistant superintendent officer was reportedly on 19th January to have been killed by one Joshua Okechukwu suspected to be a fraudster, in Anambra.
The current incident therefore, is making it the second misfortune the agency is facing in recent time.
