Sokoto state police command has confirmed the abduction of many Muslim worshippers on Thursday, during their early morning prayer.
This incident happened in Bushe community, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of the state.
While some Muslims, a number of them were performing their Subhi prayer in a mosque in the area, the gunmen stormed them and abducted about 10 of them alongside the Iman.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson to the command, DSP Ahmed Rufai said they are working towards ensuring the immediate release of the abductees.
“I just confirmed the incident from the DPO of the community when I spoke with him on the telephone.
I want to assure you that the Nigeria Police, in conjunction with other security agencies, are working tirelessly to ensure the immediate release of all the abductees.” Rufai said.
