The 35th Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. Livingstone Urutugu who was recently appointed has revealed that the perpetrators of the Nnewi incident where three siblings were killed are around the vicinity.
During his visit to the scene of the tragic incident on Monday, Urutugu vowed to completely unmask the killers who he said must be people living in the same vicinity.
Barely 2 hours after he resumed office, the new CP of the Anambra State police command headed to Nnewi affirming his Commitment to reduce crime and criminality to its lowest in the state.
During his visit to the bereaved family of the siblings, Urutugu when he addressed journalists said;
“We are here today for a spot assessment of the unfortunate murder of three siblings who were kept inside a refrigerator here in Nnewi.
“I am also here to console the family and reiterate the Anambra State Police Command’s resolve to address this heinous crime. Unlike incidents involving kidnapping or sudden disappearances, this case is particularly disturbing.
Recall that the three siblings(5-year old boy and two girls aged 7 and 9) were murdered and stuffed in a freezer in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Stressing on the need for collaboration with security agencies, Urutugu applauded the Anambra police for their hard work and advised people who might have been misled into crime to retrace their steps.
