JUST IN!!! DSS Allegedly Arrests Three Lagos House of Assembly Workers
The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested three workers of the Lagos State House of Assembly for allegedly attacking its personnel on February 18.
The incident occurred on Monday, February 17 when a confrontation broke out at the assembly complex, leading to an alleged assault on DSS operatives
Before the incident, the Lagos State House of Assembly had formally requested enhanced security from the DSS.
In a letter dated February 14, 2025, and signed by the acting clerk, A. T. B. Ottun, the assembly directed the security agency to ensure strict access control to the facility from February 15 until further notice.
A DSS source revealed that after reviewing CCTV footage, three individuals were identified and subsequently arrested for their involvement in the attack.
“Some of our personnel deployed to the Lagos House of Assembly were attacked on Monday. Our personnel were there because we were invited to provide security. After extensive analysis of CCTV footage, we were able to clearly identify three of the suspects,” the source told Punch.
The arrested individuals were identified as Ibrahim Olanrewaju Abdulkareem, a photographer, and two workers attached to the Assembly’s Sergeant-at-Arms: Adetu Adekunle Samsudeen and Adetola Oluwatosin Fatimoh. They were reportedly tracked and arrested in different parts of Lagos during the week.
The DSS source confirmed that the suspects would soon be charged to court.
Meanwhile, human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, confirmed the arrests and disclosed that the suspects had been released on bail.
“I can confirm that the three assembly workers who were arrested by DSS have been released on bail,” Falana said
