FG Promises Uninterrupted Power Supply During Ramadan
The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu has acknowledged his awareness of the challenges facing Nigerians with electricity, promising Muslims that there would be stable supply during the holy month.
“As the Minister of Power, I am acutely aware of the challenges that many Nigerians face, particularly in the area of electricity supply. I understand that the observance of Ramadan often requires increased energy consumption, especially during the pre-dawn (Suhoor) and post-sunset (Iftar) meals, as well as during nightly prayers (Taraweeh).
“I want to assure the Muslim community that the Federal Ministry of Power is working tirelessly to ensure stable and reliable power supply during this holy month and beyond,” he said.
On the other hand, Adelabu advised all to be wise in using electricity this period stating that;
“Small actions, such as turning off unnecessary lights, using energy-efficient appliances, and unplugging devices when not in use, can go a long way in reducing energy consumption and easing the burden on the national grid. By doing so, we not only contribute to the stability of the power supply but also demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability, which is in line with the Islamic principles of stewardship and responsibility over the Earth’s resources.”
Sounding it as a note of reminder, the minister told Muslims that the holy month which started on Saturday, 1st March, is not only for them to refrain from food and drinks. He urged them to avoid negative thoughts and actions.
Also, he urged them to grow in unity and harmony among themselves; not only the Muslims but all Nigerians.
