Governor of Sokoto State Distributes #1.355 Billion For Ramadan Feeding
Ahmed Aliyu, the Governor of Sokoto state has distributed about #1.355 billion to the feeding of Muslim brethrens during the Ramadan that commenced since 1st March 2025.
Disclosing this during his speech at the Government house in Sokoto on Tuesday, Aliyu said the funds were to make sure the less privileged and vulnerable are well feed during Ramadan.
The Governor also reintroduced the aim of his administration; to reach out to the less privileged, support the poor and needy.
Giving directives on how the money would be distributed, the Governor said it would be shared across 244 wards in 23 local government areas and 27 feeding centres in the state to make sure it gets to the right people and everyone else. Each of these 244 wards are entitled to 5 million naira as well as the feeding centres, according to the initiative.
“You may recall that last week, we inaugurated the state Ramadan feeding committee and flagged off the distribution of food items to 150 feeding centres across the metropolis.
“Today, we are extending this gesture to all 244 political wards and the physically challenged persons in the state,” Aliyu said.
He further urged the distributors to employ the fear of Allah as they share to make sure it gets to those it is meant for.
On the other hand, he also urged the receivers to be calm and coordinated as they receive their shares.
