Lebron James Becomes First in NBA History to Score 50,000 Career Points
Los Angeles Lakers superstar, LeBron James, On Tuesday night, emerged the first player in the history of NBA to score up to 50,000 career points in both regular and playoffs.
The 40-year old NBA star scored his point when he went against the New Orleans Pelicans with 49,999 regular and postseason points.
This milestone is coming after a 17-point performance against the Los Angeles Clippers, on Sunday.
With this achievement, James is now 6,000 points higher than Abdul-Jabbar whose total career points tallies 44,149 and has stood for 39 years.
He also beat Karl Malone 41,689 points who came third place and the late Kobe Bryant of 39,283 points, fourth place.
Leading the tributes to the star’s achievement, Lakers legend Earvin Magic Johnson, congratulated James on an X post saying;
“Congratulations to the King LeBron James for becoming the only player in NBA history to score 50,000 regular season and playoff points!.”
Apparently, in the history of NBA, Kevin Durant with just over 35,000 points happens to be the only player who is a little close to James with 15,000 points.
Prior to this, James had earlier won the Western Conference Player of the Month, in his old age.
