Tinubu Vows to Reverse Japa, Inaugurates Implementation Committee
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has vowed to upgrade Nigeria’s economy so that all who travelled out in search of greener pasture would be forced to return.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, during the inauguration of the Implementation Committee for the National Youth Conference at the Government house in Abuja.
“When you listen to most professionals leaving Nigeria, there’s a cause. If you grow prosperity back home and empower people, they will not bother leaving. They will stay home.
“I want to reassure you that you are the hope of this country, and everything hangs on you,” he stated.
The president acknowledged that youths make up 60% of Nigeria’s population and promised them that his administration is for their future.
He further urged the youths to take responsibility in making Nigeria better instead of traveling to another country.
“This is your opportunity to develop the nation and make it prosperous. You are the heartbeat of our nation, and I hope you take this responsibility seriously.
“When we started, it looked so foggy, dicey, and hopeless. We worked hard, and it was like drawing water out of a dry well,” he further stated.
The president also urged everyone who thinks something about his administration is not right, to look him straight in the face and point it out “point blank”.
He promised that whatever anyone points out would be considered and implemented.
On the other hand, he charged the 44-man implementation committee with their responsibility of making sure any recommendations from the meeting is implemented.
