SON Awards 17 Companies in Ebonyi State, Certifies 29

The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON), Ebonyi state office, after a Mandatory Conformity Assessment Program (MAN CAP), has certified 29 companies and 17 others in Ebonyi state.

In his remark, the Director- General of the organization, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okereke, represented by the Head Southeast Regional Operational Directorate, Mr Chukwuma Aharanwa said the MAN CAP must be passed by every producer in Nigeria.

According to him, the aim of the assessment is to make sure that locally made products reach the Nigerian Industrial Standard (NIS) before sale.

“As Nigeria’s apex Bureau of standards, it is our duty and responsibility to acquaint, inform and educate you our esteemed Stakeholders on Standards and standardization activities. The application of Standards in business whether manufacturing or production, is to create value and the value created makes businesses connect seamlessly irrespective of the location of such enterprise,” he said.

Hosted at the former Multipurpose Hall located at Old Cabinet Office, Abakaliki, on Saturday, the State Coordinator of the organization, Engr Ugwueche Rose stated that; “Today’s occasion has summed up the number of certified companies in Ebonyi State up to 29 with sixty two (62) certified products”.

Expressing her excitement over the completion of the assessment and award presentation, Engr. Rose called on all producers in Ebonyi state to register for the upcoming assessment to get certified.
