Delta Nursing Student Receives Disciplinary Query For Viral ‘Na Your Mama’ Video
The Delta State College of Nursing Sciences has sanctioned a student nurse, Osato Edobor for recording and posting the viral video ‘Na your Mama’ during the visit of the First Lady, Remi Tinubu.
The letter aimed at disciplining Miss Edobor was signed by the provost of the Institution, Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, and dated March 27, 2025.
“This is a punishable offence as enshrined in the Student Handbook under standardised disciplinary action for some punishable offences No. 8, Page 21,” the letter partly stated. Referring to such act as “malicious”.
The whole drama sprang from when the MC at an event raised a song — a part of the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme at the Dome Event Centre. In his song, he introduced Oluremi Tinubu as “Our mama”a title to which the students responded in unison, “Na your mama be this”.
It was an event where 10,000 professional kits were distributed to midwives in the South-South geopolitical zone.
Meanwhile, the institution has ordered Edobor to write a letter explaining why the disciplinary action should not be taken against her, within 24 hours.
