Shettima Jets Off to Senegal For 65th Independence
Kashim Shettima, the vice president of Nigeria has departed for Dakar, Senegal to celebrate its 65th Independence in Tinubu’s stead.
Just within 24-hours after the president junketed to France, Shettima also left the country.
In a statement on Thursday, in Abuja, by Mr Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice-President, he said the VP is representing Tinubu who was invited Senegalese President Faye.
He also explained that both countries have such relationship and Shettima would just cover for the president who is currently in France for reason best known to him.
With this year’s celebration holding at Place de la Nation in Dakar, Senegal celebrates its independence on 4th of April, with parades, cultural activities and other ceremonies.
Mr Nwokocha also noted that Shettima would be returning back to Nigeria after the celebration, on Friday.
