Niger Republic Adopts Hausa as National Language, Dumps French
Niger Republic has officially dumbed french as its language, adopting Hausa.
Being the most spoken language major regions in the country — Zinder, Maradi, and Tahoua, the republic announced the adoption in March 31st.
In the document containing the new development following a national meeting in February, Hausa has become the national language English and French are the working languages.
Additionally, it pulled out of a group that supports French speaking countries — ‘Internationale de la Francophonie’.
