Friends and well wishers of Isaac Chijindu Victor have been left in confusion and pain as his fiancee—both in Imo state; cancelled their wedding 12 days to the day.
According to the rumor making rounds on social media, Ayozie Delight Ihechikara cancelled her wedding after her mother got her another man based abroad.
Contrary to the rumor, however, friends of the groom who were supposed to be his groomsmen have shared what really happened.
A content creator, Udensi Bernard ‘a very good friend’ to the groom, who shared what he knows on his Facebook page said the couple dated for years before planning their wedding which had almost happened before the bride said she was no longer interested, giving her reasons.
“While others are out here searching for an intentional man, a lady just called off her wedding that was supposed to hold on the 22nd of this month.
“The guy in question is my very good friend.
“We, his friends, were fully prepared to celebrate with him—ready to dance, cheer, and witness his journey to the altar. But this lady suddenly called off the wedding, giving reasons that hold no water.
“They dated for years. My friend stood by her, supported her through thick and thin—financially, emotionally, and otherwise. He helped build her into the woman she is today, right up to the day she was called to the bar as a lawyer. He didn’t just love her; he invested in her future,” the post read.
According to Bernard, the bride called off the wedding giving excuses that there is no understanding in their relationship.
“And now, just weeks to their white wedding, after bride price and traditional rites have been done, she suddenly says, ‘there’s no understanding,’ and she’s no longer going ahead.
“To make things worse, she and her mother teamed up to tarnish his image and disgrace him. But one thing is certain—man is not God,” he lamented.
Furthermore, he encouraged his friend to remain strong and wait for the right woman.
