A man whose identity is yet unknown has lost his life while allegedly trying to steal the Agemo deity in Ogun state.

The deity which is erected at Mafowoku roundabout, along Folagbade Road, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, is said to have been commissioned since 21 years ago.

According to the report, residents of the area woke to see e relics of the statue on the ground and a man whom they suspected to have removed it lying lifeless beside it.

Residents have confirmed the news stating that the deceased’s body had been deposited at the morgue.

Hakeem Quadri said; “The incident is real. It happened right in front of my house. We all heard people making noise, and when I went outside, I saw that the Agemo statue had been removed while the person suspected to have been behind this sacrilegious act had been struck dead.”
