Ekiti magistrate court under Mr Olatomiwa Daramola has remanded 20-year-old Joy Ikoja, for ‘unlawfully’ inflicting injury on the manhood of her boyfriend – Ibrahim Usman.
David Ogbede, the defendant’s counsel who assured the court that the defendant would not jump bail if she was granted one — pleaded that she was presumed innocent under the law.
However, as the Magistrate refused the bail, Daramola ordered her remand at the Correctional custody.
While the exact story that led to the scrotal sac tearing is not disclosed — the police prosecutor, Inspector Adeboye Adesegun, in his statement, said that the defendant committed the offence around 8p.m 12th April at Irona Ado-Ekiti.
“The defendant did unlawfully inflict a wound on one Ibrahim Usman by tearing his scrotal sac.
“On the same date, time and place, the defendant did conduct herself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace in the society,” he said.
Meanwhile, rejecting the bail plea, the magistrate adjourned the case for a hearing on 22nd April.
