Residents of Otobi community, Benue State have been put in utmost panic as suspected herdsmen attacked the village on Tuesday evening and killed many while others are displaced.
The lawmaker representing Otukpo-Akpa constituency in Benue House of Assembly, Kennedy Angbo — who confirmed the sad incident said it began around 5:30pm and three people had been confirmed dead.
“Right now, many people are feared dead, and hundreds have fled the community,” he said.
Edwin Emma, a resident of Otobi who also confirmed the assault in a distressed phone call to journalists cried out for help.
“We are being attacked by herdsmen at Otobi community. My wife and children are fleeing as I speak. Please call for help,” he said.
Meanwhile, the state police is yet to say anything at the time of this report.
