Air Peace Suspends Enugu Flight Over Safety Concerns of The Airport’s Runway

Nigeria’s largest airline – Air peace has suspended all flight to and from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, over safety concerns of the airport’s runway.

The air peace’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr Ejike Ndiulo, who disclosed this development in a statement said it is temporary and all flights that were scheduled for Enugu would be moved to Asaba airport.

“We regret to inform you that all flights scheduled to Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu are temporarily suspended due to safety concerns of the Enugu airport runway. The situation of the Enugu runway has been causing major disruptions to Air Peace flights, hence the decision to temporarily suspend further flights into this airport until further notice,” the statement read in part.

Ndiulo also reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to safety of all noting that all operations in Enugu airport would commence as soon as FAAN repairs the airport — which is what they are trying to give room for.

He further notified all that flights scheduled in and out of Enugu airport would be moved in and out of Asaba airport; pleading with all to bear with them.
