FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has declared the shut down of any discovered fake medical facilities and personnels in the state.

In a statement containing this that was signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, on Saturday, the FCT expressed displeasure over some things happening in the medical field with the lives of citizens at risk.

The minister urged pregnant women and some vulnerable persons to stop visiting fake medical centres and rather enroll into free enrollment into the Federal Capital Territory Health Insurance Scheme (FHIS) which allows them free access.

This is coming as a reaction to the death of a pregnant woman in Abuja — at Afolmi Hospital in Durumi

On Friday, 35-year old Chekwube Chinagorom, who went to the aforementioned hospital — unregistered private hospital; to deliver, was introduced to a CS which took her life.

The said woman was delivered of a live baby but wouldn’t make it alive.

Private Health Establishments Registration and Monitoring Committee (PHERMC) during investigations found out through one Mr. Simon Elisha Godiya who was present that one Murtala Jumma handle the surgery.

While the case was handed over to the police, investigations are currently ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding Chinagorom’s death and fate of the hospital.
