The Lumen Christi Parish of the Catholic church, Olua-Enyingba has gifted a mansion to Rev. Fr. Peter Chinedu Nworie during the Home-Coming ceremony of the Abakaliki Catholic Diocese Bishop Most Rev. Peter Chukwu, on Sunday.

At the Lumen Christi Parish Olua-Enyingba on Sunday 27th April, the Bishop paid a visit to his root and was welcomed by worshipers from all and sundry.

With the highlight of the event; ‘Blessing of Ultramodern Rectory, Marian Grotto Foundation Laying and Conferment of Sacrament of Confirmation’, the ceremony started on Friday 25th April and concluded on Sunday 27th.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Chinedu Nworie introduced the parish’s new worship center which has already been erected to foundation level and some top individuals who were present donated some amount to support the project.

While each day had specific events, the Lumen Christi Parish Priest was surprised with a Mansion during the Grande Finale of the Episcopal Mass and Confirmation.

Bishop Nworie who blessed the mansion urged members of the church to keep thanking God for this gesture.

“I am happy that I’m back in this parish. I started from here. And that’s why when I heard about this goodnews, I said I must be here to celebrate with you all”.

Speaking to our correspondent, The Vice Chairman of the Lumen Christi Parish, Engr Felix Anayo Ota recounted how His Lordship Peter Chukwu was once their parish priest before God elevated him to becoming the Abakaliki Bishop.

He attributed all Glory to God and equally thanked him for the success of the event.

Furthermore, Engr Anayo called on all christians who may have backslidden and those who may not know how rewarding it is to serve God to stand on their feet and “come to the fold”.

“It is a wake up call to all of us. The Edifecs signifies peace, achievement, progress, and above all, the enthronement of God,” he said.

The event ended successfully as the bishop blessed the new mansion.
