BetKing sports gaming platform has launched a new street football-themed crash casino game named ‘JJ BallX’ — to honour Nigerian former Super Eagles captain: Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.

The game which was launched in Lagos, is to pay tribute to Nigeria’s street football culture and honor the former Super Eagles captain, Okocha.

The name ‘JJ’ originates from the former super eagles Captain’s name “Jay-Jay” Okocha and is the inspiration behind the central character.

Betking in a statement — revealed that the new game which was designed with visuals to portray everyday Nigerian street football scenes, enables players an immerse themselves in the experience.

The firm also affirmed the development as a part its push to blend entertainment with cultural storytelling.

Jay-jay Okocha in response to the tribute said;

“To say I am honoured and excited to be here today is an understatement. I have been blown away by this creation. I am used to seeing legends like me being celebrated when they are gone, but it means a lot to be celebrated when I am here.

“JJ BallX is a celebration of the vibrancy and talent inherent in street football, something that is very close to my heart. By attempting this record, we hope to bring together thousands of people, uniting in our shared passion for the beautiful game.”

In another development, BetKing has also planned a Guinness World Record breaking journey coming up in June 2025 and to be led by Okocha.

The game would be targeting 2,000 participants to keep a football in the air — and is aimed at creating memorable moment in the football history.
