BREAKING!!! FG Bans Operation of Tinted Glass Cars
The Federal Government through the Nigeria Police force has placed a ban on the use of cars with shaded, coloured, or darkened glass.
According to a post by the force on the official social media page, anyone who wishes to use vehicles in such condition is mandated to apply for a permit.
The force stated that use of vehicles in such condition violates Section 3 of the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act.
In the post titled “TINTED GLASS OR TINTED SWAG?”, the force said;
“If you’re walking or biking under the sun with your tinted shades on—no wahala. Rock that look!
“But if you’re driving a car with tinted, shaded, coloured, or darkened glass, the rules are different.
“Section 3 of the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act says: You’ve got just 14 days from the date of purchase or import to replace those glasses—Yes, including ‘factory fitted’ unless you’ve got a permit!.”
According to the statement, you must get a permit if you want to drive a car with tinted glass —within 14 days of purchase or import “Driving tinted? You need a permit,” the statement added.
Urging citizens to stay cool and compliant, the force made available a link through which citizens can apply for their tinted glass permit if they must use it.
“Apply for your tinted glass permit online at: possap.gov.ng.”
