Suspected Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists have killed some and captured other soldiers during an attack on an Army base in the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to reports, the incident happened at the Forward Operation Base of the 153 Task Force Battalion, on Monday and some soldiers were killed while others were captured as the troops were overpowered during the attack.

According to a resident source — gunshots were heard during the attack the insurgents also burned down the soldiers’ armored tanks and seized arms and ammunition from the base.

Meanwhile, despite a fighter jet from the Nigerian Air Force appearing and hovering over the area, the terrorists would not be moved or repelled.
