We Have Given Out Over N6.6bn to Customers – Access Bank Celebrates

Access Bank Plc has revealed that it has given out over N6.6bn to customers through its DiamondXtra savings scheme since its inception.

While access bank boasted of its customer base growing from one million to over five million and over N6bn transactions facilitated the institute said it wishes to deepen customer engagement and financial literacy nationwide.

During the launch of Season 17 of the DiamondXtra initiative in Lagos, the Regional Sales Director, Lagos 3, Access Bank, Olukemi Olayinka, said the bank has overtime, supported over 30,000 families since the beginning of the DiamondXtra initiative.

She said this was possible even while the bank maintained customer loyalty through consistent engagement and financial empowerment.

“Today, we are launching Season 17, and we promised to reward 160 customers, but we ended up rewarding 165 right here in your presence. The last five people each received N100,000. So far, we have rewarded over 30,000 families and given out over N6.6bn since inception. We currently have 131 customers earning ‘salary for life’ and we are taking it to the next level, N200,000 every month for 15 years,” she said.

During her remark, the Head, Consumer Propositions and Liabilities, Adeze Umeh, said the bank is hoping to add at least 1 million new customers through the campaign. She revealed that the major focus of the goal is to drive financial inclusion, support women, and empower SMEs.

She also reaffirmed the bank’s committment to customer acquisition, retention, and capacity building.

“We are also launching a digital referral program where groups of 50 can win N100,000. Of the 150 clusters for ‘Salary for Life’, 30 are specifically allocated to support women. Additionally, we’ll be rewarding 12 customers with N1m each and have already given out SUVS to two winners. We want to ensure that as customers save with us, we give back and help them grow,” she said.

Meanwhile, one Onyeamechi Uchenna at the launch who happens to be a previous winner of the DiamondXtra benefit shared how winning through the platform was a major breakthrough for him. He disclosed that it helped him set up his small business and gave him the confidence to dream bigger.

“This platform is not just about money, it’s about empowerment,” he said.

The DiamondXtra savings is a hybrid account that combines the benefits of both savings and current accounts. It allows customers to earn interest on deposits and it rewards users for their loyalty and commitment.
