Why Will I Contest Against Someone I’m Working For – Wike Denies Interest In 2027 Presidential Election

FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has denied rumours that he may be contesting against Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election declaring that he works for the president and wouldn’t do something like that.

According to rumour that was making rounds earlier, it was alleged that Wike may join the race for presidency if the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) agrees to zone its presidential ticket to the South.

However, in an interview with BBC News Pidgin on Saturday, the former Rivers State governor said he cannot contest against his boss, Tinubu.

“I will not contest. Why will I contest against someone I’m working for?

“They said they will zone it to the South, let them zone first. When we get to the bridge we will know how to cross it,” Wike stated.

On whether he thinks President Tinubu would win the 2027 election, Wike said there is nobody in the opposition to challenge the President.
