PICTORIAL: Tinubu Greets Pope Leo XIV
President Bola Tinubu has greeted the newly inaugurated Pope Leo XIV, on Sunday after a solemn inauguration mass held at St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City.
After the Solemn inauguration Mass, president Tinubu met with the pontiff and briefly exchanged pleasantries with him as he engaged him in a short conversation while shaking hands.
The inauguration marked the official beginning of the pontiff after the death of Pope Francis; he was elected as the Bishop of Rome and spiritual leader of the 1.3 billion Catholic churches in the world.
Tinubu had travelled to Rome on Saturday following the Pope’s invitation ahead of his Inauguration.
After the event on Sunday, the pope was greeted by other dignitaries too, including U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, others.
