On wednesday, a suspected suicide bombing attack on a military-run school bus in southwestern Pakistan has killed no fewer than four children and left over 30 schoolers severely wounded.

The Military run school is a school that caters for children of army personnel and civilians living in the area.

Speaking with AFP, a senior local government official in Khuzdar district of Balochistan province, Yasir Iqbal Dashti, said it was a targeted attack on the Army public school bus.

According to him, the nature of the attack is still being determined as initial probes suggested that it was a suicide bombing.

“A bus carrying children of the APS (Army Public School) was targeted with a bomb, the nature of which is still being determined.

“The initial probe suggests it was a suicide bombing,” he said.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer who pleaded anonymity revealed that the death toll is up to 4 while, not less than 30 other children are injured, he also noted that the death toll is probable to rise.

However, confirming the incident in a media statement, the military revealed that 5 children were dead already including 3 others.

The military in the statement further revealed that the incident was planned and orchestrated by India.

Sympathizing with the families of the victims, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered also accused India of orchestrating the brutality.

He alleged that the arch-rival backs militants which Islamabad has formerly accused of supporting proxies, including Baloch separatists as a way of fomenting militancy in Pakistan.

This allegation follows proof of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) being a very active group in Pakistan that often attacks security forces.

In recent time, the group also attacked dozens of militants and off-duty security force members and took control of a train with hundreds of passengers on board.

However, despite not being in the list of frequently attacked, the local chapter of the Islamic State group as well as the Pakistani Taliban, has also claimed recent attacks by the BLA.

“Terrorists operating under Indian patronage attacking innocent children on a school bus is clear evidence of their hostility,” the prime minister lamented.
