Gunmen Invade Abuja Estate, Kidnaps Many Residents
On Monday morning, armed kidnappers reportedly stormed Abuja’s largest suburban town, the Grow Homes estate within the Chikakore axis of Kubwa.
According to the report by residents, the armed men held residents hostage for over an hour and took some away.
A resident who spoke to newsmen said he saw them take away a man and a woman but the woman was later found within the estate, as if the abductors had freed her.
While he confirmed that a number of other persons were kidnapped, the resident whose identity remains anonymous pleaded on behalf of others, for the Government to fix road. He attributed the incident to the bad road of the area which he said hinders security operatives from patrolling the area.

“The incident happened around 12am. Those guys were well-armed, and they overpowered the local vigilance team. The police came at about 1am, and there was a fierce exchange of gunfire for about 30 minutes.
“We are begging the government to fix this road for easy access for security patrol vehicles. We also beg the police and, of course, the FCT Administration to help site a station here for rapid response,” he said.
