ISWAP Top Commander With N100M Bounty Killed by Nigerian Army
The Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai, have confirmed the killing of a high-ranking commander of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Abu Fatima, alongside two of his key lieutenants in Aleru village, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, on Friday.
Fatima was on of Nigeria’s most wanted terrorists 100 million bounty on his head. He was killed.
According to the Nigerian Army on their official Facebook page, Fatima was captured alive but only died due to severe bleeding.
“This operation delivers a significant blow to terrorist leadership in the region and reinforces the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s avowed commitment to restoring peace in the North-East,” the statement read.
The officers also recovered motorcycles, AK-47 rifles, and bomb-making materials.
Abu Fatima’s death is likely a relieve for residents kn Baga, Kukawa, Cross, Doro, and surrounding areas where he and his group has killed many fishermen and farmers.
