Babcock Expels Student for Using ‘Black Soap’ of N100k From Babalawo, Other Acts

Babcock University located in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has disclosed that the student, Oladipupo Siwajuola, who was said to have mysteriously disappeared was expelled due to deliberate engagment in fetish activities.

Describing his actions and attitudes as “gross violation of university rules,” the school listed involvement in fetish practices, drug peddling, impersonation, and dishonesty, as Siwajuola’s characteristics.

Few weeks ago, Siwajuola’s mother had taken to social media to allege that Babcock failed to care for her son which led to his disappearance. It had become a trending topic on the internet.

However, in an official statement signed by the university’s Director of Marketing and Communication, Dr. Joshua Suleiman, on Wednesday, the prestigious university disclosed that the student had left the school campus on 28th April , 2025. The management also revealed that Siwajuola had disguised in a hoodie and sneaked out of the school environment without authorization.

The institution clarified that the student did not accidentally disappear neither was he neglected by the school like his mother had alleged.

“His disappearance was neither accidental nor the result of negligence by the university.

“Rather, it was a deliberate act, laced with a series of misconducts that violate the Babcock University Student Handbook,” the statement read in part.

The statement further revealed that Siwajuola’s father had returned him to the campus on May 15, 2025, and was invited by the Security Services Department for a formal debrief.

According to the institution in the statement, Siwajuola had, in his voluntary written statement, confessed to the alleged acts of misconduct which was later corroborated before the Disciplinary Committee.

The management further stated the acts of misconduct which the student allegedly engaged in including the purchase of a N100k black soap from a babalawo (traditional herbalist).

He however, admitted that the soap was given him to complete the rituals for his ‘Yahoo Yahoo Plus’.

“Among them was the purchase of a black soap from a traditional herbalist for N100,000, which contradicted his mother’s earlier claim that she had given it to him to treat a skin condition.

“He revealed that he was engaging in fetish practices in an attempt to get rich quick,” the statement included.

This further led to the institution calling a disciplinary hearing wherein the committee found Siwajuola guilty of the offences and approved his immediate dismissal in line with institutional policies.

“In view of the gravity of these misconducts, and in line with the provisions of the university’s disciplinary policy aimed at maintaining a safe, secure, and morally sound learning environment, the university has taken the difficult but necessary decision to dismiss Master Oladipupo Siwajuola with immediate effect,” the statement further read.

While the university said it would not pursue legal actions against the student’s parent stating that the father’s conduct was responsible, it condemned the mother’s public accusations.
