The Benue State Police Command has disclosed that a 67-year old French national identified as Pietier Gilles was found dead in a hotel in Gboko.

it was gathered that the 67-year old was discovered lying in state on Saturday.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the state command, DSP, Udeme Edet, said the death was reported at police station in Gboko, on Sunday. He further assured that investigation is ongoing to find out what really happened.

“Yes, a French national who lodged in an hotel in Gboko was said to have died in the hotel and this was reported to the command on Sunday.

“Investigation is ongoing,” PPRO said.

According to punch, the manager of the hotel, Amina Cordial, said she was in transit returning to Gboko as she hasn’t been around, thereby not knowing details of the incident.

“I have not been around because I traveled out of town and I am just returning to Gboko, so I don’t have details of the incident,” she said.
