With Eyes Closed or Open, Tinubu Sees Vision – Ben Idume
The Vicar of St James Anglican Church, Asokoro, Abuja, Ben Idume, has stated that President Bola Tinubu sees vision — which explains why he saw Wike and instantly knew he would perform well in office and appointed him as Minister.
Idume said the appointment of the former Rivers State governor, Wike as the FCT minister was not ordinary but follows spiritual insight of the president.
He stated this during the thanksgiving service for the completion of FCT projects by Wike.
Wike was accompanied by some state governors and other politicians to the Thanksgiving service.
Some of them included; Edo State Governor; Monday Okpebholo, former governor of Benue State; Samuel Ortom, former governor of Enugu State; Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; the Minister of State Petroleum Resources; Heineken Lokpobiri.
Others are, the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly; Martins Amaewhule, PDP National Secretary; Samuel Anyanwu, and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.
During his final remark towards the closing of the service, Idume said; “I will not fail to thank President Tinubu who appointed this man to be minister because.
“The President, himself, is a visionary president. He can see vision somehow. That was why he saw that this man (Wike) can do something.
“Tinubu can see vision, whether he closes his eyes or opens them.
“So, the President is a visionary president, so we thank him for making us happy in the FCT.”
According to the Vicar, Wike assuming office as a minister did not happen without fights and oppositions as many questioned the possibility of a Southerner/Christain assuming office as a minister.
According to him, when Wike assumed office, “some people said over their dead bodies, he would not be a minister.”
He added that they questioned; “How can a Christian be a minister? Have you ever heard it once? How can a southerner be a minister? Have you ever heard it? It can never be done.”
However, he stated that the church is thankful to God for the gift of Wike to the FCT; ‘a southern minister’, whom he said would rewrite the history of the Federal Capital Territory.
During his remark, Wike thanked everyone for the support and faith in his administration, stating that he is unapologetically behind Tinubu for the 2027 general election.
Furthermore, he stressed that his feet are deeply rooted in the PDP and he would remain loyal therein.
