Travellers From Nigeria, Some Other African Countries to Now Access Kenya Without Visa

The government of Kenya has officially waived visa requirements from all African and most Caribbean countries including Nigeria.

This was contained in a report by Kenya Times on Sunday which specified however, that the development does not extend to Libya and Somalia as the government says they pose security risks.

“This means citizens from these regions no longer need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), do not have to fill out lengthy forms, and are not required to pay any visa fees,” KT said.

With this development, all African countries except the ones excluded can show up at the border and enter the country hassle-free; without needing an Electronic Travel Authorisation.

With this move, President William Ruto has affirmed his resolve to grant investors and travellers easy access to the country by simplifying entry procedures.

Recall that Ruto had, in January 2025, hinted that his government would soon introduce measures to improve the experience of travellers into Kenya; a promise which he is seemingly working towards.
