BREAKING!!! Dele Momodu Defects to ADC
Veteran journalist and 2023 presidential candidate under the PDP, Dele Momodu, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to join forces with the ADC coalition movement.
In his resignation letter dated July 17, 2025, Momodu cited what he described as the party’s hijack by “antidemocratic forces,” as his push.
The letter was addressed to the Chairman of PDP Ward 4 in Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.

He further stated that his decision takes immediate effect as according to him, it is a necessary step to uphold democratic principles.
He wrote; “My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight.”
Describing the PDP as a carcass in the hands of those undermining internal democracy (according to him), he emphasized that it was honourable for him to exit the party at this point.
“It is, therefore, honourable to abandon the carcass of the party to them while the majority of us earnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress,” added.
To his supporters while he was in the PDP especially in the 2023 presidential election where he contested, Momodu thanked all for their immense support stating that he will forever treasure them.
