Man Arrested for Stabbing Father to Death in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a man for stabbing his father to death during an altercation in Fotta District of Gombi Local Government Area of the state.
The man identified as Idi Buba stabbed his father, Jelli Buba on Monday.
Confirming the incident, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Yahaya Nguroje, said that the command was able to apprehend the suspect after the incident.
He further confirmed that the suspect had been taken into custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Contained in an X post by a security expert, Zagazola Makama, on Tuesday, the ugly incident reportedly occurred in the family compound of the victim and suspect.
According to Makama, the suspect had allegedly attacked his father with a knife and stabbed him on the neck and back, causing deep wounds as he was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
He stated; “A man identified as Idi Buba has allegedly stabbed his biological father, Buba Jelli, to death in Fotta District, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
“The tragic incident occurred on Monday, July 28, following a yet-to-be-determined altercation between the two in their family compound.
“Sources in the community said Idi attacked his father with a knife, inflicting deep wounds on his neck and back. The victim was rushed to the Primary Health Care Centre in Fotta, where he was confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
“Security sources said a knife suspected to have been used in the attack was recovered at the scene by security personnel.
“The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the health facility for autopsy, while further inquiries into the motive behind the killing are ongoing.”
