Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said that he has never rigged election and would never participate in such.

During a conversation on X spaces, Amaechi challenged all politicians “living or dead” to come forward and say if he has ever taken part in election rigging.

According to Amechi, election rigging often involves state governors and the diversion of public funds through government agencies therefore he promised never to take part in it.

He further pledged that he would put an end to rigging of election if elected president in 2027.

He said; “I will never participate in any rigging whatsoever, and I will not do it. What I promise to do now, going forward, is to stop rigging.

“I challenge any Nigerian to produce evidence that I participated in any election rigging, and I will apologise for that.”

On July 3, Amaechi who is a former governor of Rivers state said he is willing to be a one-term president in 2027 if he secures the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress.
