Peter Obi Pays Condolence Visit to Grieving Family of Fish Magnet (Photos)
2023 presidential candidate of the labour party, Peter Obi on Wednesday, paid a condolence visit to the family of young Anambra entrepreneur, Ifesinachi Onyekere popularly known as Fish Magnet who was killed few weeks ago by kidnappers.
Onyekwere was a hustling young man whom everyone knew for his resilience and commitment to his fish business (Fish Magnet) situated in Anambra State, his home town.
The kidnappers had reportedly broken into his apartment, beat him up and whisked him away. They would later demand a ransom of more than 10 million naira which the family paid only to receive his corpse.
Onyekwere’s death had shaken Nigerians both old and young as some Youths would go ahead to host a candle night for him in his home town which was attended by some influential Nigerian youths including Verydarkman.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Obi paid a visit to the mother of the deceased as he condoned with her over the lose of her only child.
Stating that “We Must Not Allow Lawlessness to Thrive” Obi described the deceased as a promising young Nigerian SME entrepreneur while praying for the peaceful resting of his soul in the after life.
Sharing heartwarming photos from the visit, he wrote; “Today, I paid a condolence visit to Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi to commiserate with her over the painful tragic loss of her beloved son, Ifesinachi Onyekere, Managing Director of Fish Magnet Outlet.
“Ifesinachi was a promising young Nigerian SME entrepreneur based in Awka. Tragically, he was kidnapped and later killed by yet-to-be-identified criminals, who abandoned his remains in Amawbia. This shocking and senseless act of violence is a painful reminder of the worsening insecurity in our society.
“We must all raise our voices to strongly condemn such heinous acts. I call on our security agencies to thoroughly investigate this brutal murder and bring the perpetrators to justice. Our society must not become a haven for lawlessness. We must all work together – government, community, and citizens alike – to build a safer, more secure Nigeria.
“May God, in His infinite mercy, grant eternal rest to Ifesinachi Onyekere, and may He give his family the strength and fortitude to bear this heartbreaking loss.”
