Tinubu’s Promises to S’Falcons Are Underway, CBN Network Holding Them Back – NSC

The National Sports Commission has clarified that all outstanding payments to the Super Falcons as promised were settled before the team’s final match against Morocco.

In an attempt to put an end to the fast spreading rumors about the pledge being an audio pledge, NSC Director-General, Bukola Olopade, during an appearance on Arise TV on Friday said all bonuses had been paid.

According to him, he confirmed authoritatively that all their bonuses have been paid, “I spoke with Ajibade yesterday and with the NFF and everybody is on the same page,” he said.

However, the DG clarified that if one or two members of the team are yet to receive their part of the bonuses, then it’s probably due to network issues at the Central Bank of Nigeria just as he assured that the promises would get to them in no time.

He further stated that the NSC is working with the Minister of Works and Housing to ensure the team receives their houses as promised.

“On the promise of Mr. President, I can assure you that it will be paid.

“The NSC is in contact with the Minister of Works and Housing and with the Renewed Hope Housing Initiative to ensure that they receive their houses in record time.

“The NSC doesn’t play with the remuneration and welfare of athletes,” he said.

This clarification is following Rasheedat Ajibade’s claim that the team had not received the promises made to them by the president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu after winning the WAFCON Finals.

In an interview, Ajibade had stated that even the team’s match bonuses had not been paid them.

Meanwhile, in reaction, the DG has provided clarification on the $100,000 reward for the Super Falcons’ 2024 WAFCON victory stating that all promises are underway and probably being held back by network.
