Special adviser to president Bola Tinubu on Information, strategy, Bayo Onanuga has mocked members of the opposition party following the poor performance of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the just concluded by-elections.
In a post on X on Monday morning, Onanuga shared a picture of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai with the caption: “How is the market now?”
The post was perceived to question the relevance and strength of opposition parties in the current political climate.
In the bye-elections conducted on Saturday, the opposition coalition via the African Democratic Congress, ADC lost to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
While the ruling APC cleared the majority of the seats, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) and the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, also recorded some victories.
