Benue Farmer Allegedly Scams Young Ebonyi Man Millions Of Naira (Photos)

An Entrepreneur based in Ebonyi State, Mr James Alafia has called out a Benue State Agro Businessman Mr Kenneth Eche-Ija Eyikwadoni out over an alleged scam of some millions of naira in a case of “business gone wrong”.

Speaking with our correspondent on Tuesday, the man narrated that he got into a business with Mr Eyikwadoni worth about ₦4,126,000 which he would not deliver in full nor refund the balance of the money paid to him.

Mr Alefia showed our correspondent the transfer receipts of the four million naira which he transferred to Mr Eyikwadoni on June 16th, 2025 for 55 bags of garri.

According to him; “In June this year, I wanted to get about 55 bags of garri and I paid in full. The agreement was that he would supply them to me in Anambra from Benue within three days.

“However, after three days, he could not deliver the goods. I sent several messages and he kept giving me excuses. Two weeks passed and he could only deliver 20 bags. When I asked after the remaining 35 bags, he promised he was going to deliver them and I patiently waited.

“After a while passed and I didn’t receive anything, I demanded a refund which is what has led us here. It been months now and all I’m asking is a refund if he can no longer deliver the goods.”

Describing the situation as a trap which he fell into, the victim is demanding a refund or full delivery of his goods.

He has also created public awareness warning the general public of Mr Kenneth’s strategy.

He lamented; “He claimed to be in the agribusiness sector and agreed to deliver the goods promptly.

“Unfortunately, after receiving full payment, he failed to supply the Garri and has since been giving excuses or avoiding communication altogether.

“I have all transaction receipts and proof of payment, which I am keeping for legal action and will gladly share with anyone who needs to verify this case.”

In a post on Facebook, the victim has asked the general public to help him recover his money or the goods he paid for as he shared the contact info of the suspect.

He said; “This post serves as a warning to anyone dealing with Kenneth Eche-Ija or planning to do business with him.

“Please be careful. If you’ve had a similar experience or know anything about him, feel free to reach out.

“I will not stay silent while someone takes advantage of people trying to earn an honest living.”

As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach Mr Eyikwandoni for comment proved abortive.
