4 Million Naira Saga : Benue State Agro-farmer Refunds Ebonyi Farmer His Money, Apologises

Mr Kenneth Eche-Ija, the Benue garri seller who was accused of scamming his customer has fully refunded the payment.

Earlier, we reported that an Ebonyi man had called him out for allegedly refusing to refund his N4m he had paid him to send 55 bags of garri from Benue to Anambra state.

According to him in a statement with our correspondent earlier on Tuesday, the man narrated that he got into a business with Kenneth worth about ₦4,126,000 which he would not deliver in full nor refund the balance of the money paid to him.

He had said; “In June this year, I wanted to get about 55 bags of garri and I paid in full. The agreement was that he would supply them to me in Anambra from Benue within three days.

“However, after three days, he could not deliver the goods. I sent several messages and he kept giving me excuses. Two weeks passed and he could only deliver 20 bags. When I asked after the remaining 35 bags, he promised he was going to deliver them and I patiently waited.

“After a while passed and I didn’t receive anything, I demanded a refund which is what has led us here. It been months now and all I’m asking is a refund if he can no longer deliver the goods.”

However, Mr Kenneth reached out on Wednesday and wholeheartedly apologized to the customer for the delay as he fully refunded his money.

He explained that he was unable to refund earlier or send the complete goods due to hike in price of garri.

According to him, inflation rate keeps rising on a daily basis and that was what affected his business.

He further apologized to his customer for not communicating appropriately as he clarified that he is not and would never scam anyone.
