Two young men identified as Garzali Garba, 22, of Tsohon Kafib Quarters, and Usama Ahmed, 21, of Kanti Quarters, both from Kazaure, have lost their lives as they tried to escape an arrest by diving into a nearby dam but tragically drowned.
The victims were reportedly attempting to evade arrest during a National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) raid in a suspected drug joint in Ganguli, Kazaure town, Jigawa Stat eat about 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
According to the report, security agencies, including the Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were deployed to the area to prevent unrest of its residents.
The NDLEA office in Kazaure was also reinforced, while community leaders and stakeholders were engaged to calm residents and maintain peace in the town.
