Disclosing this in a statement on Saturday, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso said the driver was arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation.

He revealed that the driver was intercepted by the Federal Highway Patrol team near the Guru Maharaj area on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as he drove a green Toyota Sienna with Lagos registration number FKJ 443 YG.

According to him, the patrol officers became suspicious when the driver exhibited unusual nervousness during the inspection.

He disclosed that his nervousness led to the discovery of the counterfeit N1,000 notes bearing three distinct serial numbers: 235923, 235922, and 235921, representing N500,000, N300,000, and N200,000, respectively.
